An unexpected drizzle didn’t dampen spirits at the ITA annual party on 5/20/18.
There was a nice mix of the usual suspects alone with new faces. It was no surprise that Michael Zhang (32 points) was
crowned the men’s champ.
Runner up was guest Kevin Quinn (31), Tim Chan clinched 3rd place (23) ahead of a 5 way tie for 4th place with 22 for Gary Bird, Mark Gross, John Sustersic
and Peter Hosang.
In the ladies division, Nan Diesen-Ng (27 points) edged out Janice Ashton (26) for the win. Yolanda Huapaya (24) took 3rd place followed by Terri Hamm and Arison Hong
(both with 23). Winners had the choice of a Starbucks gift card. bottle of wine, or ITA T-shirt.
Delicious Hawaiian themed lunch by our favorite caterer had everyone going back for seconds.
Plenty of Brownies and Passion Fruit squares for all. Our annual business meeting was held during
lunch and included reports on Tuesday men’s, Sundowners, Irvine Open tournament, membership and treasury.
Trung Nguyen will be turning over Friday Night mixed (2nd and last Fridays of
each month) to his wife Sam Nguyen. If you are interested in participating please let her know (friday@itasite.com).
The board of directors was re-elected for another term.
The greatly anticipated raffle included a slew of tennis prizes: a super sized racket bag, two tennis backpacks, ball hoper, wine bottles, beach towels, movie tickets, under armor water jug,
foam massage roller, EZ score cards, tennis towels, key chains, overgrips, sunscreen, vintage tennis tie, lanyards and tennis balls.
